Dales Plumbing & Heating
A demo built for a fictional Harrogate plumbing and heating firm. The design brief I set myself: someone has water coming through the ceiling, they are on their phone, and they need to decide who to call in under a minute.
The brief
Trade websites fail in a predictable way: a wall of text, a buried phone number, and stock photos that could belong to anyone. The customer usually arrives stressed and in a hurry.
The site had to surface proof fast, rating, reviews, years trading, Gas Safe registration, and make calling effortless at every scroll position.
What I built
- Photo hero with the rating badge and phone number above the fold
- Sticky mobile call bar so the number is always one thumb away
- Service pages for boilers, bathrooms, repairs, and emergencies
- Trust stats, featured review, and an FAQ with structured data
- Areas-covered section for local search intent
Design decisions
Every trust point on the page maps to something a real firm could prove: review counts, certifications, years trading. Nothing is invented decoration, because customers check.
The palette is steady blue with one warm accent for the call action. On a trade site the call button is the entire business, so nothing else on the page competes with it.
